In recent years, the Aruban government has poured roughly $350 million USD into reviving its capital city of Oranjestad. This included the construction of a Linear Park Trail, which will eventually connect the length of the island’s west coast from the Airport to Palm Beach. When completed, this will the longest linear park in the Caribbean.
At present, the Linear Park trail is a red brick path that runs between the airport in Oranjestad to the Cruise Ship terminal. It’s 4.2 miles out and back. This lovely paved route is lined with trees for shade and offers easy access to the beach, airport, and main sights of downtown Oranjestad. There is also public stationary workout equipment at Surfside Beach.
