Hunter Creek Trail

The Hunter Creek Trail is a popular running route for its proximity to town and fantastic views of the Elk Mountain Range. It’s actually two trails combined, the Upper and Lower Hunter Creek Trails. Combined, the somewhat tough path is about 7 miles in length (one way) and steadily gains 700 feet in the first mile before leveling out somewhat. However, the path has lots of fun features — including bridges and creek crossings — to keep runners interested. Start out on Hunter Creek Road and run through bridges and meadows for a distance of your choosing up to 14 miles. The first 3 miles of the trail are especially popular for running.
