Atlanta, Georgia

Downtown Atlanta Tour

This is a great tour of all of downtown’s landmarks. Starting at one of the main hotels downtown just east of I-85, this run includes a tour of Centennial Olympic Park, The World of Coca-Cola, CNN, The Georgia Dome, Aquarium, the College Football Hall of Fame, Philips Arena, the Castleberry Hill historic neighborhood, and Georgia Tech. Look for fun sites, galleries, shops, and restaurants on Baker St., Luckie St., and Peters St.  Octane Coffee and EBrik Coffee are popular with runners. For guided running tours in Atlanta, we recommend our friends at Go! Running Tours.
Directions: Start downtown at the Marriott Marquis, off Baker St. Head west, to Centennial Olympic Park, which is also the location of the The World of Coca-Cola, CNN, The Georgia Dome, Aquarium. Do a jaunt around there and then south past the CNN Center and along Walker St. for ~1 mile. Turn around at Greensferry Ave. and head north along Peters St./Ted Turner Dr. For the next section, optional run for ~1 mile north along Luckie St. to Tech Parkway, with an optional addition around the Georgia Institute of Technology.
