Barbados

Speightstown/Port St. Charles

Toward the northern half of the island, there is some pleasant running in Speightstown, the second largest town center in Barbados. Our nearly 10k route includes some nice waterfront running. Start on Queen St. at the centrally located Arlington House Museum/Speightstown Mural. Head south briefly to the water along Alms Gap, then back north along Queen St. and then Highway 1B along the water for ~2 km, to Heywoods Beach. Continue north along the main road, where there’s an opportunity for a brief jaunt out to a pier. Then, you can do a pleasant ~1 km around the Port St. Charles marina, along waterside paths. After this, there’s an option for a ~2 km out and back along Sherman Hall Moon Fort, a quieter road along the water with great views. Return via this road and the main road to Speightstown.

Note: No shoulder/sidewalk in sections.
