Jemison Trail

This concrete path through the Mountain Brook neighborhood, alongside scenic Shades Creek, is one of the prettiest runs around Birmingham. It is incorporated into the 54-acre Jemison linear park, with several access points possible along the way. A central starting point is at the intersection of Cahaba Road and Mountain Brook Parkway, about 5 miles southeast of downtown, just off Rt. 280. From there, run east along Mountain Brook Parkway, Overbrook Road, Beechwood Road, and Old Leeds Road to the path break at Stone River Road. This path also incorporates the Nature Trail and the Watkins Trace Trail. Note: At times of flooding/heavy rain, the crossing of Shade’s Creek, 1.5 miles in may be inaccessible.

Runners can always start from the east end of the path to ensure more mileage. For a longer route, loop back on LEFT on Old Leeds, LEFT on Montrose, LEFT on Montevallo, and LEFT onto the path along Cahaba Road. This route is amplified by gorgeous homes and a chance to run through the Botanical Gardens.
