Boise Greenbelt: Barber Park to Lucky Peak

This is a nice opportunity to explore the southern part of the Greenbelt, in the area between Barber Park and Lucky Peak. It’s one of the longer flat runs one can do in Boise. Starting in Barber Park, follow the Boise River Greenbelt east along Eckert, and then RIGHT (South) to follow the trail paralleling Warm Springs Ave. Nice mountain and occasional water views. At the ~3 mile mark, cross under Highway 21, and continue along the path right along the river, separated from the road by a concrete barrier. It is 5 miles to the Discovery Picnic Area and another 1/2 mile to the end of the trail on Sandy Point Rd.

Essentials
  • Up to 5.5 miles one-way, or 11 miles out and back. Can easily be shortened
  • 114 feet (flat!)
  • Barber Park
