Southwest Corridor Path

In the 1980s, the old orange line trolley was put underground and is now a subway. The result is a beautiful running path that starts in the heart of Back Bay and continues all the way to Forest Hills, connecting with the Arboretum and Franklin Park. One fun option is to run the 3.9 miles one way and hop on the Orange Line for the return. Option: Get off the path in the south end part of Boston and run on some of the prettier roads there.

I love to run this trail to the Arnold Arboretum and then run through the aboretum. The Southwest Corridor Path is very flat. When you get to the arboretum you can get all of the hills you want. The arboretum is a beautiful place to run, with a mix of pavement, gravel paths, and soft trails.
