New York City - Boroughs

Bronx – NYC Botanical Gardens

The NYC Botanical Gardens are one of the most visited gardens in the country. There are beautifully manicured gardens and forests that look like they’re out of a story book. Take the outer loop as mapped above or choose one of the many trails that zig-zag through the garden for a more leisurely run (see MAP). Most of the roads are paved, and there are also some well-maintained trails. The Gardens aren’t cheap — it’s $13 per visit or $6 for students. However, the entry fee is worth it and if you get there on Saturday mornings from 9–10 AM it is free! The Gardens have security at the park so this route is as safe as a city run can possibly be. Take the B, D, or 4 trains to Bedford Park Blvd or Metro-North to Botanical Gardens. The front gates are located at located at 2900 Southern Boulevard in the Bronx and are about 40 minutes by subway from midtown.
