Zwin Nature Park

The Zwin plain is another opportunity for a run around some unique geography, on the coast about 20 km northeast of Bruges. The 159-hectare Zwin Nature Park offers numerous paths along coastal plain, salt marshes, dunes, and along the water. It’s also an important birding area. Note that this park is also a tourist attraction, and requires a fee.

There are several km of signposted trails that are wonderful for running. There’s a 1 km ‘cabin trail’, numerous ‘circular walks’, and a broader opportunity to explore the plains in the area. There’s even a special ‘barefoot’ path!  The best bet for a run is to get away from the main tourist paths near the park entrance and onto the broader marsh trails, including those designated for cycling. A really nice run in a unique setting. See this park plan.

Note: Fee required, opening times vary throughout the year.
