Normafa is a large green space about 8km west of central Budapest, in the Buda Hills. It’s a favorite walking and running destination. There are great views from the summit at 477 meters. It’s popular with skiers in winter. The park is known for its ‘famous beech tree’ and the Erzsébet observation tower at the summit of János Hill, at 526 meters (served by chairlift and a 2 meter wide path).

There are many km of trails in the park, with a good variety of paved and gravel. There are some terrific opportunities to do some hills, but there are flat sections as well. Best to develop your own route! There’s also a brand new rubberized running track that goes for about 2km between the between the Normafa restaurant and the Erzsébet Lookout Tower. We could not find a park map online, but have a screenshot of a photo that has the map in the park.
