Cannes: Promenade Croisette, du Midi

This is a wonderful waterside run along the promenades in Cannes, France. It is possible to run for more than 11 km between the Pullman Royal Casino, east to the center of Cannes and the port, and terminating at Blvd. de La Source where the road turns inland. There is a dedicated path and water views nearly the whole way. There is a beach along much of the path, but it gets very crowded in summer and the sand quality is not great for running. A bus runs along the boulevards, so it’s possible to do a longer one-way run and take the bus back!

There are two main sections of the run, which the Cannes Tourism Office has divided into two ‘Parcours’, or jogging paths: Parcours de La Croisette is the best section, running for 4.5 km, and features Palm Beach, the Casino de la Pointe Croisette, and the Cannes Port, to the Tourist Office. The area is famous for the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, site of the Cannes Film Festival, and the area has many expensive shops, restaurants, and hotels.

The second part of the run goes along the Boulevard du Midi, for nearly 7 km, terminating at the Pullman Royal Casino near the airport and Plage. The promenade/trail is a little narrower in parts, but still very runnable and pretty, with water views. Much of the Boulevard is right along the beach.
