Features:
Bushnell Park is the jewel of downtown Hartford, with lovely walkways encircling a carousel, lily pond, and the Connecticut State Capitol. While not a long run, it is easily accessible from the downtown area and can be combined with the Riverwalk route for more mileage. Starting from Jewel Street and looping around the perimeter of the park toward the Capitol, the route is about 1.25 miles. The circuit includes a couple of street crossings, so be mindful of traffic.
Add-On: Combine with Riverwalk. It’s 0.7 miles east from Bushnell Park along Pearl St. & State St. to Mortensen Riverfront Plaza. Or, run for ~2 miles west to Elizabeth Park, using Asylum Ave.
