Pleasant Run Trail

Explore the eastern and southern edges of the city with the Pleasant Run Trail. The trail runs 6 miles from Ellenburger Park in the north to Garfield Park in the south.

Start at Ellenberger Park in the charming Irvington neighborhood, 5 miles east of downtown, and head southwest along Pleasant Run Creek. You’ll pass through Christian Park and be routed to sidewalks in two areas, but there are clearly marked signs. Next, you’ll pass by Orange Park, a pedestrian bridge, and intersect with the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. From there you’ll continue westward to Indy’s oldest city park, Garfield Park. The trail meanders along Pleasant Run Creek where it’s paved, but in other places, it winds through neighborhoods, using the same sidewalks as residents.
