Located in the Mona neighborhood just west of Kingston, the Mona dam has been called the “Holy Grail” of running in Kingston. The reservoir is surrounded by a hard dirt path, about 2.6 km (1.6 miles) around. As runners circle the dam — as many times as needed to meet their workout quota — they can enjoy views of Kingston city and the Blue Mountains. Most runners set out at sunrise to avoid the heat of the day. While parking is free, an annual pass (and a small processing fee) is required to jog here. See here for an application.
