At 5 square kilometers, Tivoli Park is the largest park in Ljubljana — a refreshing sprawl of green space right in the city center. It was designed in 1813 by acclaimed French engineer Jean Blanchard to include mansions, flower beds, fountains, and wide walkways bordered by chestnut trees. These paths make for one of the most popular running spots in Ljubljana. You can run over 10 miles in and around the park. The denser section of paths, framed by the famous Jakopič Promenade and east of the Tivoli Mansion, are more of a design your own type route.

We’ve designed a 7.6 km (4.7 mile) loop, circling the park and leading up to Rožnik hill. Start out on Pod Turnom path and loops north onto Tivoli path. Take a left on Vecna Pot and continue until you find the left hand turn up Rožnik hill. As you descend, the path returns to Vecna Pot which drops down to Cesta 27 aprila. From there, the path leads east back to your starting point. If you’d like to add a little strength training to your workout, there are several outdoor exercise stations throughout the park, and many other paths.
