It you are interested in modern art, Juan Carlos I Park is the route for you. Located in northeast Madrid, in the neighborhood of Corralejos (District Barajas), this 148 acre park features a large lake, olive groves, the Tres Culturas garden, and 19 open-air sculptures! To get the best tour of all the sculptures, follow the well defined 5K “Sculptures Path.” If you are looking to extend your route, there are an additional 8 km of paved trails inside this park. A free tourist train loops throughout the park, so if you get tired you can hop on and enjoy a ride back to the start. The park is ~20 minute (20 km) drive northeast of the center, and reachable by metro/light rail in about an hour (Feria de Madrid (L8) Metro Station or Bus Routes 104, 112, or 122).
