Maine: Mid-Coast

Belfast Tour

The historic seaport town of Belfast is a popular tourist spot, owing to its antique architecture, pretty waterfront, and thriving arts scene. Main St. and the surrounding streets downtown feature Federal, Greek, and Italianate mansions among other types of historic buildings.

We recommend a create-your-own route approach to running in Belfast. A highlight is the 1-mile Belfast Harborwalk, featuring great water views and a footbridge over the river. Then, enjoy some of Belfast’s charming and historic downtown streets, inside of Rt.1: High St., Main St., Court St., Church St., etc. One can put together a very pleasant and scenic 4-5 miles here.

Essentials
  • Harborwalk is 1.1 miles one-way; Overall route is 4-5 miles
  • Harborwalk starts at Front St. & Commercial St.
