Worsley Tour

Wikimedia

This is a quick tour of one of the more attractive suburbs of Manchester, about 1/2 hour west of the city center. The community is one of the posher neighborhoods, well-known for the partially wood frame houses and the older canals. One can put together a 3-4 mile run of some nice variety, including the cute center with its Village Library, tour around the “green”, and paths through the park and along the canal.

Start at the Library, and head Mill Brow toward the Old Warke Dam. At the 0.6 mile mark, take a right on the path that goes by Broadoak Park on the left, to the end at Parrin Ln. and the Monton Church. The return will be along the Bridgewater Way path, following the narrow canal.

Essentials
