Amalfi Coast: Path of the Gods

Though 70 km from Naples the famous cliffside scenery of the Amalfi Coast’s “Path of the Gods” is not to be missed when visiting this region of Italy. The path runs from Bomerano in the west to Nocelle, near Positano, in the east, for about 13 km (8 miles) one-way. Footing can be a challenge on some sections of the trail — so expect to slow down and hike at times — but considering the spectacular Mediterranean views, it’s relatively flat. This is a great destination run if you have a weekend or a day off.

Runners can pick up the path in Nocelle – Positano in the east, or Bomerano in the west, although the best views are from the Bomerano end, with the sun behind you in the mornings. The trail can be run as an out and back, or you can catch transportation to/from Naples at either end of this well-signed trail. Shoot to run early in the morning before it gets too hot. This link has an excellent description of the path and the details.
