Features:
One of the most famous ‘runs’ in New England. This route is famously known as a public access walk that combines the natural beauty of the Newport shoreline with the architectural history of Newport’s gilded age. This cliffside walk has the ocean on one side and the Newport’s spectacular mansions on the other. The path is a combination of paved and gravel, and it’s narrow.
There are five unique segments to Cliff Walk: Memorial Blvd. to Forty Steps, Forty Steps to Ruggles Ave, Ruggles Ave to Belmont Beach, Belmont Beach to Ledge Road, and Ledge Road to Bellevue Ave.
Be wary that the sections are not always easy to run. The path is narrow and it can get very crowded. Best to go early in the morning if you want to really ‘run’ it.
Essentials
- 3.3 Miles ONE WAY.
