One of the great aspects of the island of Palm Beach is its walkability. Wonderful shops, restaurants, hotels, and beaches are all within walking distance. Spectacular homes line South Ocean Blvd., and pretty residential side streets feature shade trees and lovely estates.
We’ve put together a 5-mile ‘runseeing’ tour of Palm Beach. We start at the iconic corner of S. Ocean Blvd. and Worth Ave. Worth Ave. is the east coast version of Rodeo Drive, and one of the most exclusive shopping destinations in the world. Head west on Worth Ave., until the intersection with S. Lake Dr. Then you can do some of the side streets paralleling Worth Ave. to lengthen or shorten the run: Australian, Peruvian, etc. Enjoy Royal Palm Way — the gateway to Palm Beach, and then take Cocoanut Row for about 1 mile, passing the Flagler Museum, to Royal Ponciana Way. Now you’ll curve down toward the famous Breakers Hotel, and then return along beautiful S. Ocean Blvd. We also take you along Clarke Ave., which is one of the nicer side streets of Ocean Ave., before returning to the start.
Add-On : To lengthen the run, enjoy some of the side streets paralleling Worth Ave., (Australian, Peruvian, etc.), or between S. Ocean Blvd. and The Lake Trail (Clarke Ave., Seaview, Seabreeze, etc.).
Note : South of Worth Ave., there is no sidewalk along S. Ocean Blvd., so running here (while tempting) is not advised. The same is true for N. Ocean Blvd. north of the Breakers.
