Lake View Run (Frankton to Queenstown)

This lakeside path has spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the mountains, so don’t be surprised that you cross paths with other runners! Known as the Frankton Arm Walk or the Queenstown Trail, the well-managed and relatively flat 10 km path is a local favourite and follows along the edge of the lake, with some shade from the trees. Through the entire run, enjoy the stunning view of Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand’s longest lake. In Frankton, the trail starts just after the Kawarau Bridge. In Queenstown, start at the Recreation Ground Carpark.

You can do an out and back for 20 km, or buses run regularly between the the two areas and take only 25 minutes.
