Quito, Ecuador

Parque Metropolitano Guanguiltagua

This massive park green park in central Quito is the lungs of the city, and probably the most popular place for a run. A stone and gravel road circumnavigates the park for a loop of about 8 km (5 miles), with plenty of cross paths and additional loops in between. It’s a nice, tree-lined breath of fresh air from otherwise smoggy, crowded Quito. Runners are likely to encounter all sorts of unique creatures, from hummingbirds to the pack of llamas which roam the park.

Longer Run: The park connects easily with Parque La Carolina.
