Spokane, WA

Centennial Trail: Additional Highlights

The Centennial Trail stretches almost 65 miles from Nine Mile Falls in Washington to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Many of Spokane’s top running spots are along or near the sections of the trail that passes through the area. Some highlights:

Riverfront Park: Nice 2.7 loop around this park that’s near the heart of downtown, including the campus of Gonzaga University. MAP.

Kendall Yards. Just west of downtown. Nice neighborhood. Good views, and a nice link between Riverfront Park and Riverside State Park.

Riverside State Park: This 1,400 acre park just 9 miles northwest of downtown covers a long, scenic stretch of the Spokane and Little Spokane rivers. In addition to the 10 miles of the Centennial Trail which cut through the park, there are some 45 miles of additional hiking trails. For trail runners, the 2-mile Bowl and Pitcher trail includes stunning views from a fun to run suspension bridge. MAP.

Mirabeau Park. 10 miles east of Spokane. 55 acres of meadows, forest & springs with a nice series of trails.
