Reid Park

This is a centrally located park near downtown and the University. The park features a zoo, rose garden, golf course, and tennis courts.

The 3 mile, paved David Bell Multi-Use Path loops the Randolph and Del Urich Golf Courses. It’s marked at quarter-mile intervals, is lit at night, and has water fountains. The Rec Center (near the corner of Broadway and Alvernon) has bathroom facilities. This can be added on to with the Arroyo Chico Greenway. Instead of cutting off at S. Randolph Way, continue to S. County Club Rd. and do the perimeter of the zoo section of the park.  Add even another mile with paths inside the park.

Another good option is the 800 meter dirt track that runs around the perimeter of the practice fields.

One cool feature is The Workout Group, the famed drop-in running group founded in 1997.  Every Tuesday and Thursday, anyone can join in speed sessions of all kinds.  Meets at 6:00 pm near the baseball field parking lot.

Specifically, can you state where the 5k Sr. Olympics race on 1/12 begins, the route it takes, and the finish? Also, is there ample parking at the beginning?

Thank you
