For some hilly running on forest trails, head to Košutnjak Park, located 6 km south of central Belgrade. This park has hilly forest trails, a 1.2 km Tartan Track, and numerous athletic facilities that are part of the School of  Physical Education, University of Belgrade.

You can create your own route on the numerous trails and roads in the area. An easy to follow perimeter loop is on the trail paralleling the main Pionirska Rd. It’s a 5k loop, with a 120m elevation gain! Note that the roads in the park don’t have a sidewalk/shoulder, though there’s not too much traffic. Toward the southern end of the park is the athletics complex, which has a running track, fields, and other facilities. Lots of good opportunity for some hill training!

Essentials
  • Several km of hilly trails & additional roads. Main perimeter path is 5 km
  • Hilly! Main perimeter path is 120m (389 feet) gain
  • In park, good access from the School of Physical Education
  • Best access is at southern end of park, at the School of Physical Education
