Coastal Path from Hillarys to Mindarie

Coastal Walk Burns Beach
Wikimedia Commons

Running the coastal path from Hillarys to Mindarie is another scenic running opportunity along west coast beaches northwest of Perth. A paved multi-use path runs along the coast for up to 17 km between Hillarys and Mindarie. While our other nearby route from Sorrento to Trigg is more of a path alongside the beach, this path is mainly above the water and more away from the road. There are great views of the beaches and water below. It’s also gentle rolling hills, with the steepest sections toward the northern end.

The southern end of the path starts just north of Hillarys marina. Note that the several km immediately north of Hillarys is scrub brush and the water isn’t visible. Run north for as many km as you like! Most of the path is away from the road, with a short section along Oceanside Promenade at Mullaloo Beach. There are access points to the road and numerous beaches along the way. You can run the full 18 km, or just do a section!  The north end is at the Tamala Park Conservation Reserve off Long Beach Promenade.

Add-Ons: Nice jaunt out the pier at Hillarys Marina. Also our route on the path along W Coast Dr. between Sorrento Beach & Trigg Beach.
