National Heroes Circle (Kingston)

Official White House Photo by Pete Souza

This 50 acre botanical garden serves as both a monument to and a burial ground for Jamaica’s National Heroes, Prime Ministers, and cultural leaders. It used to be a racetrack, so the park’s circular shape makes a perfect perimeter loop for a run (albeit not a long one). One loop around is about 1.8 km, but if you add in some of the park’s cross paths, it’s a nice tour of Jamaican history and culture as well as a close-to-the-city workout.

Essentials
  • 1.8 km (1.1 miles) loop
  • 12 meters (38 feet)
  • National Heroes Circle
  • Opposite Arnold Bus Stop
