North Diversion Channel Trail

Anyone in northeast Albuquerque can hop on the North Diversion Channel Trail for a paved tour of the neighborhoods along the north diversion channel. It’s not the most scenic option in town, but a useful commuter route and a long run at 8.5 miles one-way. The south end begins at the University of New Mexico, and it continues north to Balloon Fiesta Park. Along the way, runners can easily connect to other trails and parks.

Add-Ons: Connections to to the Paseo del Nordeste Recreation Trail and the Paseo del Norte Trail. At the north end, there are trails at the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum, where one can regularly see Albuquerque’s famous ballooners.
