Running at the Pyramids

Google Street View

One of the most important wonders of the world, surrounded by desert. The key question is, “can I run the Pyramids”. The answer is a qualified ‘yes’. The Pyramids are indeed spectacular, but they are also a heavily touristed site and all that goes with that.

Clearly, one cannot run on the pyramid, but you can put together a few km around the perimeter roads and paths, and up a couple of dunes, sort of a run/hike, with the reward being some great views of the Pyramid complex. Cars aren’t allowed right inside the pyramids complex and if you keep your distance it’s probably OK to run along some of the outside roads. For more details, here’s a blog post by a guy who did it.
