Two Lake Loop: Lake Kittamaqundi & Wilde Lake

Lake Kittamaqundi. Google Street View

This is a great run near Columbia Town Center, with loops around two lakes on paved multi-use paths, using the Lake to Lake Trail as a connector. Do each lake separately, or combine for a 4-mile route. Good add-ons! Bonus: the paths around Lake Kittamaqundi are lit at night!

Our route starts at Lake Kittamaqundi Pier (though the official start of the Lake to Lake Trail is 0.5 miles east @Stevens-Forest Rd). A loop around this man-made lake is 1.4 miles. Combination of water views & wooded sections. Use the Lake to Lake Trail, a modest uphill, to connect west to Wilde Lake, crossing Little Patuxent Pkwy. The, enjoy the 1.5 mile Lake Wilde Loop (Note: there are a couple of road sections on the southwest side). The path along Lake Wilde has some water views and some more wooded sections. Retrace your steps to complete the loop.

Add-Ons: From Lake Kittamaqundi, continue east along the Lake to Lake Trail, and additional paths, to Blandair Regional Park, or west to Symphony Woods. There’s also a multi-use along Little Patuxent Pkwy.
