Nice: Route to Villefranche-sur-Mer

This is a great opportunity to do a longer run along one of the more ‘runnable’ major roads in the area, including the famed Coco Beach. The route is from Nice to the small town of Villefranche-sur-Mer, starting on Avenue Jean Lorrain and then  following the M6098, also called Boulevard Carnot/Boulevard Princesse Grâce de Monaco. The road is above the water and features good views much of the way. There is a sidewalk or shoulder of varying amounts of width. Closer to Villefranche-sur-Mer, get off the main road onto the M225/Avenue Georges Clemenceau, and follow it into town or to the train station. This is a great run to do one-way, and hop on the train for 20 minutes back to Nice! Do as much as you like for a there and back. If you’d like to have an in-person guided running experience in Nice, we highly recommend our friends at Go! Running Tours.

Sentier Littoral

There are a couple of nice detour options: Just south of Coco Beach, there’s a waterside trail called Sentier Littoral, which runs for about 1 km one-way. The trail is part gravel, part rock, part steps. It can nice walking/hiking detour or a good running challenge…just watch your footing!

Add-Ons: Sentier Littoral. Also, Mont-Boron is accessible by trail from this route.
