The Umhlanga Promenade is another fantastic waterfront route just north up the coast from Durban. It’s a pretty brick pathway lining the beach, with the Umhlanga Lighthouse and Whalebone Pier as its centerpieces. From the south, the path starts at Durban View Park, reaching Umhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve after 2.5 km. It’s a nice 5 km out and back.
Add-Ons: Runners can also continue into the nature reserve or onto the beach for more mileage.
