Manhattan Heights is El Paso’s poshest neighborhood, featuring quiet, wide streets with good sidewalks and some nice homes. Parts of the neighborhood are a designated historic district. It’s a good neighborhood in which to create your own run along streets that run up to ~ 1 mile north-south or east-west. At the northeast boundary of the neighborhood, Newman Park borders on Scenic Drive. At the southeast corner of the neighborhood, Memorial Park, a pleasant community park with trails, lighted softball field, tennis courts, playground & a swimming pool. There’s also a great running track at Austin High School, off Byron St.
Add-On: Our Scenic Drive route, accessed from Newman Park. The road itself is 2 miles long, featuring several overlooks. It’s a good opportunity for a hilly run with great views.
