Space Coast Beaches

If you like a long run on a beach with reliably firm, flat sand, this is one of the best. From the head of Cape Canaveral near Titusville to the Sebastian Inlet south of Palm Bay, the long barrier beach between the Banana and Indian Rivers and the Atlantic Ocean is typical of the best oversand running in eastern Florida. The flat, firm sand here is ideal for a run of any length, especially at low tide. One can carry on uninterrupted for almost 40 miles one-way, so most runners will want to choose a smaller segment for an out and back. Popular choices include the quiet section along Patrick Airforce Base, the numerous beach parks in the Cocoa Beach region, and Paradise Beach Park. We especially recommend hitting the beach at sunrise, both to beat the heat and to enjoy the incredible oceanfront views!
