This is a guide to the best places to run in Portsmouth and the New Hampshire seacoast. This includes some scenic coastal running in the coastal area from Salisbury Beach to the border just south of Kittery, Maine. Hampton Beach is a both a scene and a terrific beach for running. There’s also some very nice running along sections of Rt. 1A/Ocean Blvd.
We’ve also included a couple of routes centered on the scenic coastal town of Portsmouth. This includes a tour of the town’s highlights and the bridge to Kittery, and a loop around New Castle Island.
