This is a guide to the best places to run in Portsmouth and the New Hampshire seacoast. This includes some scenic coastal running in the coastal area from Salisbury Beach to the border just south of Kittery, Maine.
Hampton Beach is a both a scene and a terrific beach for running. There are also several miles of gorgeous coastal running along sections of Rt. 1A/Ocean Blvd. We’ve also included a couple of routes centered on the scenic coastal town of Portsmouth, including a loop around New Castle Island. Just inland is the New Hampshire Seacoast Greenway, which runs for 8 miles from just north of Hampton to just south of Portsmouth.
