Kapolei: Ko Olina Lagoon Paths

Google Street View

At the southwestern end of Oahu near Kapolei, there’s a a concrete paved large sidewalk linking several beachfront resorts in Ko’Olina. The path overlooks four man-made lagoons built in the late 1990s/early 2000s. The southern end is at Lagoon 4 at the Ko Olina marina/beach park, and the northern end is at Lagoon 1 at the Four Seasons Resort.  Additionally, the four lagoons make for some good ocean swimming locations. At their deepest point they are between 5-6 feet in depth. Overall, it’s neat 5k out and back run, with some additional small paths in the area.

Generally speaking, a good route is to get onto the path from the Lagoon 4 parking lot and turn left. Follow the circular path around the lagoon, where you’ll see a unpaved path heading towards the harbor for a bit of unpaved trail running. Get back onto the looped path previously described and run north to the end of the path around the Four Seasons Resort.

Our thanks to Carl Amolat for this route recommendation!
