Red Deer Linear Park: Devonion Trail, Bower Woods Trail, Southbrook Trail

Google Street View

A series of narrow parks runs along a strip just east of downtown, forming a linear park along Waskasoo Creek. Multi-use paths (mostly paved) run through the parks for 7 km between the River and 19th St., with an additional 4 km path headed east along 22nd St.  Do the whole thing or choose a section!

The north end of the route starts at the river at Gaetz Park. Run south on the paved path for 0.5 km, then an on-road section for 0.5 km to Coronation Park. Continue south, heading through Waskasoo Park, Barrett Park, Rotary Canyon Park, and Kim Canyon. Just south of 32nd St. is a Fitness Park. At 22nd St. (0.8 km short of the southern end), the paved Southbrook Trail runs east alongside the road for 4 km to Laredo Park (this trail isn’t as attractive as the main trail).
