Features:
The Fossvogur neighborhood is one of the most popular running spots in Reykjavik, where the milder weather finds shelter from the wind, and the paved bike paths seems to stretch out endlessly. There are lots of options for a run here, but any of the bus stations near the Bústaðarkirkja are good starting points. Head west on the path along Bústaðavega. After about 2.5 km, turn LEFT onto the path that borders Fossvogsvegur. At the end of the street, keep bearing LEFT towards the park. You’ll pass volleyball courts and fields before arriving at a football stadium. Wrap around the north end of the stadium (along Traðarland) and out towards Elliðaárdalur. Just before you reach the station, bear LEFT again to return to the start.
For a longer option, head southwest through Kopavogur, along the river, and out along the coast of the peninsula to the southwest of Fossvogur.
