Blue River Bikeway: Breckenridge to Frisco

Creative Commons: Felix Wong

The Blue River Bikeway is another in a series of off-road trails that make for some flat, easy running in Summit County. This paved multi-use path runs for 9.6 miles between downtown Breckenridge and downtown Frisco, mainly along Highway 9 (so this isn’t 100% bucolic). This road follow the outline Blue River, but is not beside it. The terrain is mainly open scrubland, with some nice mountain views. The path loses about 400 feet in direction headed north from Breckenridge.

The mapped route starts in downtown Breckenridge. The path is super easy to follow.

Add-Ons: In downtown Breckenridge, explore some of the historic downtown streets the Victorian buildings of this old mining town. There’s also the ~1 mile Riverwalk path just off Main St. and a block east of the Blue River Bikeway.
