Barron Island is a nice spot for some tranquil running on quiet roads and a park-like atmosphere. It’s adjacent to downtown, accessed by the La Crosse Westbound bridge. Enjoy the island’s scenic roads, which run ~2 miles from end-to-end. The main road is N Pettibone Dr., which runs along Pettibone Park, and features some nice water views. There’s also an 0.5 mile trail along a small lake. S Pettibone Dr. extends to the southern end of the island.
Park at Pettibone Beach. Or, it’s possible to run from downtown. It’s ~1.5 miles, using the La Crosse Westbound bridge, which has a pedestrian sidewalk.
