Red Deer, Alberta

McKenzie Trails Recreation Area

The McKenzie Trails Recreation is a lovely park in the northern part of Red Deer, with 4 km of paved paths around a lake and along the Red Deer River. There are nice water views and older trees.

For a longer run, continue south along 45 Ave. and then paths along the Red Deer River.

Note: Just across the David Thompson Hwy, is the Kerry Woods Nature Centre. There are lovely paths around Gaetz Lakes, but because this is a birding area, jogging is not permitted. But it makes for a nice walk!
