Blackfalds to Lacombe Multi-Use Path

Google Street View

The paved multi-use path that connects Blackfalds to Lacombe is a nice opportunity for a longer off-road run. There’s farmland and a section along Lacombe Lake. Blackfalds is located 15 minutes north of Red Deer. It’s nearly 11 km between Willow Park in Blackfalds and the Lacombe Research and Development Centre.

Starting at Willow Park, head north. After 1.5 km, the path runs alongside Range Rd. 272 (dirt road) for 2.5 km, and then a scenic section along Lacombe Lake for 2 km. Then, 1 km east along Twp 402 Rd., where the trail runs alongside Highway 2A, but away from the road so as to make this section pleasant.

Essentials
  • Up to 10.8 km (6.7 miles) one-way
  • 39m (128 feet) one-way, headed north
