A great spot for some easy laps! Located 5 miles south of downtown Bellingham, Lake Padden is a popular recreation spot, sitting in the shadow of Chuckanut Mountain and Galbraith Mountain. A wide, gravel path circles the lake for 2.6 miles. There are nice views of the lake through the trees. Easy footing, and some fun ups and downs.
Add-Ons: The Galbraith Mountain and Padden Trails are located southeast of the lake, between Samish Way and I-5. Hilly, rugged, and forested — this is more challenging trail running.
Essentials
- 2.6 mile (4.2 km) loop
- 272 feet (82m)
- Off Samish Way
