Huay Tung Tao Lake And Running Track

Ang Kaew Reservoir Running Track. Google Street View

Huay Tung Tao Lake is the best place for a nearby destination run in Chiang Mai. Located ~12 km north of the city, the man-made lake is a popular spot for running, walking, and cycling. There a couple of running options here: a loop around the lake on the very runnable perimeter road is 3.5 km. There are good water views, a festive atmosphere, and numerous eateries and gathering spots. There is also a running track, which is a paved multi-use path adjacent to the road that goes from Lord Buddha Lanna Square to the lake and makes a small additional loop. The track is a ~3.5 km, so combining the track and lake is a 9.4 km route with some elevation.
