The Loop incorporates some of Chicago’s most impressive architecture. Walking tours of The Loop are very popular. The area was not designed for running, nor are there any designated running paths. However, a “light jog” architectural tour of the Loop can be very enjoyable, especially if you do it early in the morning or in the evening. There is no set route, but the major highlights comprise about 2 miles of walking. This map is a good ‘walking tour’ of The Loop, which can be used to guide your run.

The Loop can also be incorporated into our 2.8-mile Chicago Riverwalk route, or the Lakefront Trail and Parks at the eastern end of the Loop.
