In the southern part of Chișinău near the airport, the Alexandru Ciubotaru National Botanical Garden is a nice spot for a run. Built in the 1950s, the large green space features mainly paved paths around an extensive series of gardens featuring 10,000 species of plants and trees. There’s also a reservoir in the middle of the park. A perimeter loop around the paths is ~5 km, including an 0.8 km out and back path to the Palm Garden. Note: the Garden is undergoing some renovations as of early 2024.
Add-On: Just across the R2 (Airport Road), there’s an additional path, part of which skirts the western edge of Muzeul Satului Lake. From the Botanical Garden as an add-on, it’s 5.5 km out & back.
