Among all the Caribbean islands, Curaçao features some of the best and most varied trail running. There are numerous coastal paths, a network of trails around salt pans, and interior hill/mountain trails that are more rugged. There are trails and hiking areas sprinkled all around the island. Here are a few recommended areas for trail running. More details can be found on hiking sites. NOTE: Many trails are rugged, open and exposed. Be prepared and use caution in heat! 

Jan Thiel Salt Pans. Just east of Mambo Beach. Some of the easiest and most scenic trail running on Curaçao. See our route

Sint Michiel Bay. Nature trails in the area of a large lagoon. Flamingo viewing! Look for the Sint Michiel Baai Natuurpad trailhead. 

Kokomo/Malpais TrailNear Kokomo Beach. More rugged trail running on the narrow Malpais- Jamanika route- Bina trail. 

Christoffel National Park. Northwest coast. Several km of scenic trails (DETAILS & MAPS) ranging from easy to challenging.  Interesting birds, plants, foliage, and Mt. Christoffel. There’s also a  rugged, challenging trail run up to the summit of Mt. Christoffel. Great views!  

Playa Santu Pretu to Blue Room Cave. An easier 1.1 coastal path at the western end of the island.
