Features:
For those looking to experience some good old-fashioned trail running, Strathcona Science Park is the perfect destination. Located 10 km east of downtown, the park covers over 269 acres and is a favorite for hikers, mountain bikers, and trail runners. It’s also a popular winter sports spot.
This park was the site of an annual aboriginal camp for thousands of years, and was supposed to be a science office complex but then protected from industrial development. Runners will come across archeological excavation sites from the late 70’s as well as abandoned interpretive buildings from the 80’s as they explore the grounds. We haven’t mapped out a specific route, but enjoy the many km of trails.
