Batavia Pik (Waterfront Promenade)

Rioberto S.

In west Jakarta, Batavia Pik is an extensive waterfront promenade that’s part of a new, large development called Amantara that includes restaurants, hotels, and new residences. The area is a popular spot for its restaurants, beach, shopping, and golf. Our thanks to Rioberta S. for suggesting this route!

This is also a newer and terrific place to run in Jakarta. On the main island, a paved waterfront path runs for ~3 km from Maju Beach to Batavia Cove. There are great views of Jakarta Bay. Then, you can double back and take the pedestrian bridge over to the new reclaimed island, whose main feature is Jakarta International Palm Beach. A paved path runs along the water, making for a 4 km loop (note: some of this path is still under development). Overall, this is a route of nearly 10 km.

Essentials
  • Up to 10 km (6.2 miles)
  • Fairly flat
  • Batavia Pik -- either Maju Beach or Batavia Cove
  • A bus runs to Batavia Pik. There are parking lots on the island
